Size Matters
Why Size Matters
If you’ve explored our site, you have no doubt noticed that our plugs come in a wide variety of sizes – there’s the popular short stem/small bulb, the long stem/large bulb, and so on. In total there are six different size combinations to choose from, so how do you pick the right one for you? If looking at all those choices leaves you scratching your head, check out this easy guide for selecting your ideal size.
Bulb Size
The first thing you’ll want to consider is the bulb size. The bulb refers to the round, bulbous part of the plug that is inserted. Consider your level of experience when choosing your bulb size.
Beginner
If you’re new to anal play, you’ll definitely want to stick with the small bulb. Our small bulb plug is 1.3” in diameter, but if you want to go even smaller, we always welcome custom orders.
Even if you are not a total newbie - when in doubt, stick with a smaller size. You will still be able to enjoy the small plug and move on to a larger size when you’re ready, but it won’t be any fun if you pick a plug that’s too big.
Intermediate
For those who have already used smaller anal toys, but would like to graduate to something a bit larger, we recommend our medium bulb plug which is 1.5” in diameter.
Advanced
At 1.8” in diameter, our large bulb plug is for those who are very experienced with anal play. This size is only recommended for those who know their bodies and are already comfortable using toys that are similar in size.
Stem Length
Our plugs come in two stem lengths: short and long. Our long stem plugs are typically just over half an inch longer than our short stem plugs. If you’re wondering what the difference is, and how you know what’s right for you, there are two main factors to consider.
Anal Play vs. Long-Term Wear
There are many different ways people choose to enjoy their butt plugs, but for the purpose of choosing the correct stem length, we’ve broken it down into two categories.
If you prefer anal play, we recommend our long stem plug. The longer stem allows the plug to be more easily guided and manipulated. So if you are looking to move your plug around, whether on your own or with a partner, the long stem is the one for you.
If you like your plug to stay put while you wear it out-and-about or for longer periods of time, the short stem is definitely the way to go. The shorter stem helps keep the plug comfortably in place while you do housework, go shopping, or whatever tickles your fancy.
Your Individual Body
Another aspect to consider when choosing the stem length is your own unique body. For those with a disability or limited mobility, we recommend the long stem plug because the extra length provides more to hold on to, making it is easier to grip and guide. Some people with larger body types may also prefer the long stem plug.
Of course, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to choosing what feels good to each person, but we hope this information can offer guidance and also help explain why it’s important to offer so many sizes. We want you to have the most pleasurable experience possible, no matter your experience level, body type or how you choose to use your plug.
Below you can find a handy chart with the specifications of all of our plug sizes, and we hope you can use our guide to find a plug tailored to you. Remember, if you don’t see the size you want, send us an email and we can make something just for you!
